CANCER CARE SUPPORT

Someone by their side through cancer care, even when you’re far

Cancer care means many appointments, new medicines, tiring days and a lot of questions. ManoHealth’s doctors, nurses and Health Advocate help your loved one in the Philippines through it, and keep you updated every step of the way.

THE DAY-TO-DAY REALITY

Cancer care is a lot for any family to carry

And it’s even harder when you can’t be there to help with the day-to-day.

So many appointments

Visits with their cancer doctor, lab tests and treatment days, often far from home.

Hard days at home

Tiredness, poor appetite and side effects between treatments.

Hard to follow

Doctors’ instructions and medicines that are easy to mix up.

Worry from afar

Not knowing how they’re really coping, or how to help.

HEAR FROM FAMILIES

In their own words

Families share what it’s like to have a team looking after their loved one’s recovery back home.

“As a patient, I felt the compassion of their team, Ruth, their neuro specialist and the physical therapist. They explained everything as if we’ve been long time friends.”

WHEN TO GET HELP

Signs that need attention right away

During treatment, some changes can be serious. Share these with everyone who cares for your loved one.

Call their cancer team or go to the hospital

  • A fever, especially during chemotherapy
  • Bleeding or bruising that won’t stop
  • Vomiting or diarrhea that won’t stop

Call 911 right away

  • Trouble breathing or chest pain
  • Sudden confusion or can’t stay awake
  • Fainting or a seizure

In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital first. ManoHealth supports your loved one’s care, but is not an emergency service.

QUESTIONS

Common questions from families

Is ManoHealth an emergency hotline?

No. ManoHealth is not an emergency hotline and does not provide emergency care. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital right away. Once your loved one has arrived at the hospital, their Health Advocate can step in to help, keeping you updated and coordinating the next steps in their care.

Can they keep seeing their own doctor?

Yes. Their Health Advocate can book and go with them to appointments with the doctors they already see, and share updates with you.

Can the Health Wallet help with costs?

Yes, with your approval. Qualified expenses include prescription medicines, visits with specialists, lab tests, counseling sessions, rides to appointments and equipment like a wheelchair.

Do you replace their cancer doctor?

No. Their cancer doctor stays in charge of their treatment. ManoHealth supports them around it, with home visits, check-ins, appointments and updates for you.

What if they have a question at night?

They can reach a doctor 24/7 by app, video call or landline. For an emergency, call 911 first.
